Glossybox | January | 2020

Hello!

So although the delivery of the first 2020 Glossybox was a bit disappointing...the box definitely wasn't!

To sign up to GlossyBox Click *HERE*
If you sign up this month they have unfortunately SO
LD OUT of this box but they are doing a Mystery Glossybox use the code NEWYOU to get it for just £7,

I normally receive my Glossybox within the first week of the month but there was an issue with the delivery for some people this month, but as usual Glossybox were quick to let me know that there was an issue and when it would be arriving.

Januarys box was themed "Sleep and Refresh". I was really happy with this box it had some lovely products in which I will most definitely get some use out of!

1 | BYBI Strawberry Booster | RRP £12

This was the product I was most looking forward to. I love a serum and this one sounded and looked lovely! It is used to hydrate your skin - which in this horrid UK weather my skin is in need of! For some reason I thought it would smell like strawberry or have a sweet scent, which it doesn't - it has no scent at all. It does however make my skin feel super soft and look radiant.  I look forward to continuing to use this and let you know what I think of it.

2 | Basic Beauty | Tweezers | RRP £15.50

Not much to say about this product! I can always do with a new set of tweezers, I don't know what happens to mine they disappear! I currently have a set in my dressing gown pocket, make up bag and bedside drawer but you can never have too many - haha!
These are a cute baby pink colour and have the slanted tip which are great for getting those fine little pesky hairs!

3 | ModelCo Clear Brow Gel | RRP £14

I was glad to see this in the box as I have just ran out of my Browcote eyebrow Gel. I use clear brow gel everyday to set my brows into place. I don't think you can really go wrong with a clear brow gel so I am sure I will be using this from now on to replace the old one!

4 | BeautyPro | CBD Oil Infused Mask | £5.95

There is nothing I love more than a good sheet mask. This one looked interesting, there are so many beauty products now that are infused with CBD Oil. I done this mask last night and was quite amazed with how good my skin looked after doing it, I have red cheeks which nothing really seems to fix but my redness was considerably calmer after doing this mask, my skin also felt lovely and soft. It had quite a herbally scent to it which I wasn't particularly keen on but it was bearable, and I'd definitely do it again considering the results. It has made me want to go and get one of the CBD serums to see if they do the same!

5 | Kueshi Double effect Make up remover | RRP unknown

This one was a bit random, when i was reading the card that you receive telling you about all the products I noticed this wasn't on there, in fact it was a completely different product, but then I received an email explaining the mix-up. I am actually glad I received this instead of the product on the card as one of my new years resolutions is to stop using face wipes and go back to the whole cleanse, tone, moisturise routine. I used to always do this routine, then when I had children and had less time I got stuck in the routine of grabbing a face wipe and taking m make-up off that way! Now I am starting to age :( I have started to take better care of my skin! So this product will be great to try. It's also one of those products that separate into two colours which my inner-child finds highly satisfying!

6 | NAKD Bar | Salted Caramel

This is not for me Haha! I am all for trying healthy alternatives...but this is not my cup-of-tea! I tried palming it off to my daughter but she looked at me in disgust! I will stick to my Graze flapjack - they are delicious!

Glossybox | December | 2019

Good Evening,

This months Glossybox arrived today, the theme this month is 'Merry Metallics'. It is full of make-up products, which are perfect if you have a Christmas party coming up!

Decembers box has 5 Full-size products which are worth over £55!

Get this months Glossybox for just £7 using discount code: DECEMBER

1 | Lasplash Cosmetics | Golden Gatsby 3D Faux Mink Lashes | RRP £9.75

These lashes look gorgeous. Very Glamorous so perfect for any Christmas Parties or even Christmas Day! The only downside is they don't come with an adhesive so if you don't have any you would need to buy some.

2 | Steve Laurant | Loose Powder Pigment | RRP £14.60

This is a gorgeous rose gold loose pigment, you can use this however you wish, a pretty colour on the eyes but I think it would make a beautiful highlighter! I have used Steve Laurant products in the past and have always loved them, the products are great and the packaging is really pretty, it feels quite luxurious!

3 | Bellapierre | Liquid Shadow Eye Candy | RRP £20

I look forward to trying this, its not like anything I have used in the past. I tried it on the back of my hand, it comes out as a liquid but drys very quickly as a very opaque glittery gold!

4 | L.O.V Cosmetics | Lipaffair colour and care lipstick | RRP £8.90

I have never heard of this brand before, but the packaging is really nice, it feels expensive it has a magnetic lid and feels really heavy. The colour I received was Matte Love Potion, matte isn't normally a go-to formula for me in the winter months...to be honest lipstick isn't something I regularly wear in the winter - Carmex all the way! This however feels quite moisturising for a matte lipstick, it has Kendi Oil and Hyaluronic FILLING SPHERES in it which will apparently "smooth and visibly plump your pout".

5 | Original Source | Sweet Rhubarb & Raspberry Sower Gel | RRP £2.30

Last but definitely not least... because I LOVE an Original Source Shower Gel! This smells incredible as do all of their shower gels!

Glossybox | November | 2019

Evening!

My November Glossybox arrived yesterday and I wasn't disappointed! This month Glossybox was called "Winter Warmers", as I have been "maturing" I appreciate skincare and haircare so much more than I used to and I now actually prefer getting these types of products over make-up!
Winter months are hell for my skin, I suffer with dry skin anyway so the chilly weather doesn't help this issue so I am all for any new nourishing and moisturising products!
There is also a discount code at the bottom so you can go and order your very own Glossybox for just £7!

1 | Kandi Cosmetics Glow up primer and setting spray | RRP £20

Loads of brands have come out with these sprays recently, I have tried the Iconic London one that I think every single reality TV star has advertised on Insta recently, I liked this product but it was one of those products I used for a few weeks then slowly started forgetting about it! This pretty much looks identical to that, I will give it a go and maybe do a Iconic VS Kandi post when I have a verdict!
Give your dull winter skin the ultimate glow up with the Kandi Cosmetics Pre Glow Mist. It's hydrating properties moisturises the skin whilst giving it a long term glow. Spray the mist before or after makeup, or on its own for refreshed and glowing skin.

2 | Hask Exotics Hair Oil | RRP £2.49

I love trying new hair products! I have recently been trying to really take care of my hair, I have been colouring my hair for about 13 years now and have had two children (Pregnancy Hair loss) and it has really taken a toll on my hair. I received the repairing shine hair oil. I have used Moroccanoil in the past which is lovely but very pricey. I tried this Hask one this morning and I have to say so far I am impressed, there are quite a few oils I have tried in the past which made my hair look greasy - This one didn't do that it got rid of my frizz and made my hair look really shiny! So far so good!
- Give your tresses the extra nourishing boost they need this winter. Lightweight and alcohol free, this hair oil absorbs instantly and provides a beautiful shine with no oily residue.

3 | Mudmasky Leave-Me-On Winter Mask | RRP £43.50

First things first £43.50... I would never spend this on a mask so the £10 you spend on Glossybox is worth it just for this product alone! So I haven't tried this yet but as I am writing this I have just put a bit on my hand, it almost smells like baby lotion it is very moisturising but it doesn't feel heavy, its also not sticky which I am happy about. I am really into masks at the moment I have been doing sheet masks regularly, so I look forward to trying this one out.
- This not only creates an invisible shield on the surface of your complexion, protecting it from blustery weather, but it also repairs and nourishes dry, cracked and flaking skin

4 | Rituals Soothing Hand Balm | RRP £9.90

I love a Rituals product! I have just ran out of my favorite hand cream, so is great timing for me. My all time favorite hand cream is Merci Handy Flower Power hand cream, which is a lovely hand cream and I highly recommend trying it. This Rituals product is a hand balm rather than a cream, it is thick and nourishing and smells like a spa, my hands feel instantly soft after applying it.
- This luxurious hand balm is specifically formulated to treat dry and cracked skin.it blends sweet almond with Indian rose to soften and nourish your hands.

5 | Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser | Deluxe Mini - £1.10 Full-size £8.99

I originally saw this product many years ago when I was watching Youtube - I noticed a lot of American Youtubers would use this or I would see it in the background of their videos then a few years ago I saw it in Boots and had to buy it! I have dry sensitive skin so I am careful about what cleansers I use on my skin. This cleanser is great at removing stubborn make-up but at the same time it is super gentle on your skin.
- This gentle cleanser removes make-up, dirt and impurities without stripping your skn of its natural oils or upsetting its pH levels

6 | OFFBLAK Fruit Tea | £0.84. RRP Full-size £9.98

So I think I have probably said before, I don't like getting tea bags in my Glossybox! I am a YORKSHIRE tea only kinda girl, I don't really enjoy fruit tea! Saying that this is just an extra product so I ain't mad about it! Umm.... Cute packaging though!

This months Glossybox adds up to a mad £77.83 so yes Novembers Glossybox is most definitely worth the £10.00 it costs! You can still get your hands on this months box HERE! Use the code COSY and get the box for just £7!

Whats in my current make up bag?

Hello!
I haven't done a post in some time now...life got in the way for a bit, kids, house and work. I feel like I now have a good routine, everything is back in order, life is good and I really miss sitting down and talking about products! So I thought I would ease myself in with one of my favourite type of posts..."Whats in my current make up bag?" These are a few things that I have regularly been grabbing recently. Some things have actually changed since my last one of these although there's still some old faves in there!

 So without further a do...

1 | Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Radiance Shot | £19.95
This is one of those products I used for a while and didn't really know why I was using it but after a couple of weeks of using this every night I noticed a huge difference in my skin. I suffer from dry skin and this has massively helped, my skin feels smoother and a lot less dry. If I am having a day where I don't want to wear too much make up I now think my skin looks OK if I pop a pump of this on, it just makes my skin look less dull! I honestly couldn't rave about this product more if I tried.

2 | Garnier skinactive Day cream | £5.99
I love a lot of Garnier products, this is one of my favourite day creams, its really moisturising as it contains shea butter and great if you have dry skin. It is fast absorbing and leaves my skin feeling really soft. It has a slight fragrance to it but it's not over powering.

3 | Becca Ultimate Cover Foundation | £32.00
I recently  got this when looking for a change from my holy grail Estée Lauder Double Wear, I wanted something with similar coverage but more moisturising. I have really enjoyed using this, it is a medium-high coverage foundation. They say this foundation is suitable for all skin types but I don't know how well it would last on oily skin but for my dry skin it works really well, it is not as matte as double wear, it gives you quite a dewy finish which I personally prefer. It feels really light on the skin which I love! When applying this foundation a little goes a long way, if you use too much it starts looking a bit cakey. The only real downsides I found from this product are that it takes a little while to set and it does transfer if you don't fully set with a powder. Overall have I found a real contender and will I stop buying Double wear?...No, my search continues! I use the colour Porcelain

4 | MAC Eyeshadows | Wood-winked & Naked Lunch | £10.00 each
These are two of my all time favourite MAC shadows, I have re-purchased these numerous times. Naked Lunch is really pretty all over the lids for a minimal make up look, its a light Shimmery pink. Wood-winked is the perfect gold, I love this on its own all over the lid with a bit of naked lunch on the inner corners of the lid. These are almost now gone and I will be buying these again!

5 | Benefit Hoola | £13 (Mini) £26 (Normal)  £38 (Mega)
If you don't know what this is...where have you been for the last like 10 years?! I have been using this for many years and it is something that is ALWAYS in my makeup bag. It is the perfect contour colour. The Pigment is amazing. These little boxes of last FOREVER, this mini one will easily last for 6 months even though I use it everyday. Benefit Bronzers and Blushes are by far the best in my opinion. There is even a light version of this now if the original is a bit too dark for you!
* £5 off Benefit orders

6 | Rimmel Stay Matte Powder | £3.99
I have mentioned this in many of my past blog posts I don't use an awful lot of powder as I do have dry skin but I always sweep a bit of this on my T-Zone. I do wish they'd adapt the packaging of this though. The plastic lid always ends up cracking, which then leads to the powder eventually smashing. - I use the transparent one

7| Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade |£19.00
I love this, and since discovering it 3/4 years ago I haven't used anything else. This pot and an angled brow brush is all you need. This lasts all day doesn't transfer or wear off until you scrub it off! Really easy to use. I will continue to use this! - I use the colour Soft Brown

8 | Maybeline Hyper Precise Liquid liner | £5.99
I am always trying different liquid liners, in fact I have 4 different ones I am trying at the moment. I prefer the felt tip style liquid liner, I find them so much easier to apply compared to ones with brushes. This one has really impressed me, it is jet black not grey like a lot of them seem to be. It has a really fine tip meaning as the name says you can get a really precise line and it doesn't seem to dry out quickly.

I hope you enjoyed this little post. I am trialing lots of new skin and hair products at the moment so I will update you with those soon!

Haul | 2018

Hello, and I should probably say Happy New Year....as my last post was that long ago!

I'm still trying to find time to blog between working and looking after my daughters! I really miss doing it so after buying a few new bits today I thought I would do a spontaneous little post! Two children are definitely harder than one - sounds obvious but with my first one being such an angel she fooled me into false pretences...my second daughter is the complete opposite and I no longer get a second to myself! As I am sat writing this she is tugging at my top repeating "Mummy"!

As always I ran out of multiple products at the same time! Why does that always happen?! So I had to go and purchase some new things! A couple of these are my Holy grail products whilst the other two are completely new products that I am willing to risk placing on my face and I will update you with my findings!

 1 | Collection Lasting perfection | Very Fair (New shade) | £4.19

This is an oldie but a goldie! I love love love this concealer, I have tried many different concealers over the years including MAC, Bobbi Brown and Estée Lauder. None of them compare to this! This has high coverage and it lasts all day! I was happy to see they had brought out a lighter shade, I always used to buy 01 but this is a shade lighter so will be perfect for covering my mum eye-bags! At £4.19 you can't go wrong!

2 | Rimmel Stay Matte Powder | Translucent | £3.99

This is my other Holy Grail product! I don't use an awful lot of powder as I do have dry skin but I always sweep a bit of this on my T-Zone. This is all you need in a powder! I do wish they'd adapt the packaging of this though. The plastic lid always ends up cracking, which then leads to the powder smashing.

3 | Milani | Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation | 01 Creamy Vanilla | £13.00

Now this is a completely new product to me. I have always used Estée Lauder Double Wear, but as I went to order my usual I thought " you know what, there has to be something that's cheaper" I just couldn't bare spending £30 on it, every time I buy it, it goes up by £1 i'm sure! I read and watched numerous reviews online and after watching some I was convinced I needed to go and buy the Jouer foundation which is dearer that double wear haha *Facepalm I dragged my finger away from the buy button and settled on this! Glass bottle (Tick) good colour range (Tick) PUMP (Tick) I am really hoping this is as good as it looked on reviews! I will update you when I have tried!

4 | The Ordinary High- spreadability Fluid Primer | £5.50

I'm not going to lie. Why did I buy this? You may ask! My answer would be the packaging made me do it! I know its not everyone's taste but I LOVE "The ordinary" packaging. I needed a primer and this looked like the best value, I think the packaging makes it look a lot dearer so when I saw it retailed at only £5.50 I was amazed! It comes in a Glass Pipette bottle with very simple packaging. I haven't yet used this but after putting it on the back of my hand I like the feel of it! It makes my skin feel super soft!

This pink-y nude is the perfect your lips but better colour. I love the texture of these, they are really moisturising.

February Birchbox | 2016

Hi guys. When I received this months Birchbox I was not disappointed, everything from the pretty box to the products inside were great! I have a had a look online at Glossyboxs' February box, which did look quite good also, but again I am glad I stuck with Birchbox as I think the products are slightly better. The box itself is really pretty this month, it's turquoise with marble affect and it says "shine Bright Like A Diamond" on it.

Spectrum Collection | Tapered Powder Brush | RRP £7.99

"This vibrant hand-finished brush makes light work of powder application (whether that's setting powder, shimmery highlighters, or your fave bronzer) Thanks to the precisely-shaped tip and super-soft tapered bristles. Oh and it's absolutely gorgeous."

Thoughts|  I was so excited when I saw this inside my box, I was looking at the Spectrum brushes the other day and almost bought some! This brush is beautiful, it has a pink handle, with blue and purple ombréd bristles. It feels really good quality, the bristles are super soft. If I like this I may end up buying one of their sets as it's too pretty not to!

Number 4 | Lumiere d'Hiver Super Comb Prep & Protect | RRP £20.00

"Treat your hair to a little TLC with this does-it-all wonder product. Not only does it strengthen and repair tired strands but it de-tangles and tames flyaways, too - and all without sulphates or parabens! That's what we call win-win."

Thoughts|  I love a good tangle spray for my hair. My hair's fine so it gets tangled really quickly. I highly doubt I would re-purchase this one though as I am in love with the Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle which is a Birchbox exclusive and it's £6.00 cheaper than this one.

Only Fingers + Toes | Nail Polish | RRP £16.00

"While nail polish trends come and go, a polish that stands the test of time is hard to come by. Thankfully, this lacquer boasts a timeless glossy formula, applies effortlessly, and is free from the Big Five chemical nasties found in many polishes."

Thoughts|  I'm not a massive fan of the colour of this it's a muted pink with a nude undertone. This will probably be thrown into my nail polish collection and forgotten about unless I can think of a friend that may like it.

Ayres | Body Butter in Patagonia | RRP £19.50

"Not only is this luxurious plant-based formula brimming with shea butter, vitamin E, and antioxidants to soften and hydrate, but the mix of jasmine, lavender, and ylang-ylang leaves behind a serene scent that lingers on nourished skin."

Thoughts|  I'm looking forward to trying this, being 8 months pregnant I am trying all sorts of body butters and oils to lather onto my growing belly. I applied a bit of this onto my hand and it sunk in quickly which is great as I hate it when creams leave a film across your skin.

LOC | One and Done Shadow Stick | Champagne Problems | £8.00

"What you are about to experence is Birchbox's first in-house make-up brand that we are SO excited to share with you. So what can you expect? Up to 11 hours of creaseless, waterproof colour in one handy stick, that's what."

Thoughts|  This is the one product that I have tried since receiving the box. Subscribers were emailed in January and asked to choose from two colours, one was this one, champagne colour and the other was a gold,  I would usually opt for the gold but I own so many gold/bronze eye colours that I decided to go for this one, and I am glad I did. The colour is a beautiful metallic champagne. It last really well on the lid, I wouldn't necessarily say it lasts 11 hours but it lasts a good amount of time maybe 7/8 hours. The price is great considering brands like By Terry do shadow sticks for £29.00...The £8.00 LOC one is much more appealing for your purse!

Derm Eyes | Make-up Remover Wipes | RRP £9.50 | Beauty Bonus

"Eliminate all traces of make-up, gently, with these hypo-allergenic cleansing wipes. perfect for sensitive peepers, they've been created with a super-soft fabric to cleanse and hydrate the eye area without irritation"

Thoughts|  This is a nice little extra and as I do have sensitive skin it will be interesting to see if this irritates my skin.
