January Favourites | 2016

Good evening. I cant believe it's already February! I thought I would share a few of my favourites from January.

Liz Earle | Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser | £15.50

I have been trying to look after my skin throughout winter and this has been amazing. It's so easy just to grab a face wipe to get your make-up off, but it doesn't actually take it all off. This stuff is great it takes all of my make-up off, leaves my skin feeling super clean and it isn't too much of a hassle! I just rub this into damp skin and use the muslin cloth that comes with it to wipe it off. It removes all of my eye make-up and doesn't irritate my eyes.

Rimmel | Wake Me Up Foundation | £8.99

This is a foundation I have re-purchased a few times now. I struggle to find a good high street foundation. This one is brilliant for the price. I decided to get this one out again a few weeks ago as my skin was getting really dry from using my Estee Lauder Double Wear constantly. This is a lovely dewy foundation, really great if you suffer from dry skin. It leaves a natural glowy finish on your skin, if you're a fan of matte foundations then this isn't one for you! It also has a SPF 15 which is great for the summer! The only downside to this is probably the amount you have to use to get a medium coverage. I have done a full review on this foundation here.

MAC | Lipstick | Velvet Teddy | £15.50

I love this lipstick. Full Stop. It's matte so it lasts for hours, it's a pinky nude with a brown undertone. I feel like this could suit many skin tones, it's very flattering. Although it is matte, it's not at all drying its still a really creamy hydrating formulation. I tend to use my Lush lip scrub before using this just to make it smoother. If you want to try a brown'y nude I highly recommend trying this as I feel it's still quite a safe brown lipstick.

Chanel | Mademoiselle | £76.00

I was lucky enough to get this perfume for my Birthday in December, it has always been a favourite of mine. I haven't found another fragrance that I love as much as this one. People always compliment it when I wear it. When you're next near a fragrance counter smell this perfume...it is incredible.

Origins | Drink Up Intensive Face Mask | £23.00

I have been using this a lot through December and January, due to the cold weather my skin has been extra dry! This is such a brilliant face mask, I use it twice a week, I apply it after cleansing and toning my skin, and sleep with it on. It's a really lovely fruity scent. When you wake up it the morning your skin has "drunk it up" hence the name! My skin feels so soft in the morning after using this.

Current favourite Lipsticks | July 15

Hi Guys, I thought I would do a little post about the lipsticks that haven't left my bag recently. These are the lipsticks I have been reaching for everyday for the past month or so.

MAC | PLINK! | Lustre | £15.50

I love this lipstick, it is really sheer, its a lustre finish so its sheer with a pearly finish. This colour is a warm toned nude, it leaves a sheer pink shine on your lips. This is great for an everyday lipstick, super pretty!

Rimmel | Lasting finish Kate Moss | 32 | £5.49

This is a peachy nude, with an orange undertone. This is a beautiful colour and I think most skin tones could pull this off.  I've seen it on both pale and tanned skin and it looks great, it’s a really flattering colour. It lasts well too considering its a "drugstore" product. It does need to be re-applied after eating or drinking,  like most lipsticks, but if you would like something different to the usual pinks and reds I highly recommend trying this.

MAC | Velvet Teddy | Matte | £15.50

I have wanted this lipstick since last year, when I heard it is the lipstick Kylie Jenner wore. It sold out at the time, so when I was recently in a MAC store and saw it...I had to have it. It is a beautiful pinky nude with a brown undertone.  It is a matte finish so lasts well. I tend to apply this along with my Rimmel lip liner in the colour Spice!

Favourites Of 2014

Good Evening. I thought I would do a post on my favourites from 2014. It did take me a while to narrow it down but in the end I managed to get down to my 6 favourites from last year and I think these are all essentials in a make-up lovers make-up bag!

1. Nars Sheer Glow Foundation | £31

I fell madly and deeply in love with this foundation last year. I had read many blog reviews and watched many YouTube videos before purchasing this little gem and boy am I glad I got it. I'm going to put this out there first, this is not a cheap foundation, I think its one of the most expensive I have purchased (along with the YSL ones). The way I see it is that although it cost £31 it has lasted over 3 months, so that is around £10 a month for a beautiful foundation...this is how I justify the amount to my partner anyway!
The foundation itself can be applied with a brush or looks equally as beautiful if applied with fingers. Very buildable, this can go from being quite a natural foundation to full coverage. It gives a lovely glowy radiant skin and lasts all day easily! I cannot say enough good things about this foundation and I highly recommend it!

2. Mac Pro longwear concealer | £15.50

Another pricey product but if you can look past that, it is a fabulous product. I don't use this everyday, but when I have had a sleepless night due to my daughter keeping me up or if I am going somewhere nice I will grab this. It has a medium/high coverage. It feels light on the skin, it applies as a creamy texture sets quite quickly and once it has set it wont budge. On me it lasts all day easily.

3. Eyeko brow gel | £18.00

This is a great product. I love to use this on my "no make-up" days.  I just run it through my brows and gives them definition and colour but they still look natural.

4. Soap & Glory Supercat liquid liner | £6.00

Not much to say other than this is a fab liner and I think I have used it throughout 2014. It is jet black, lasts all day and is easy to apply.

5. Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick | £5.49

I think this has been my favourite since 2013 I have purchased about 3 of these. I have bought redish lipsticks from YSL, Elizabeth Arden and MAC but always seem to come back to this one. It is a matte formula therefore lasts hours without needing a touch up. The colour is a beautiful dark red colour which is very flattering and makes your teeth look super white. I love this and will continue to repurchase until its discontinued (which no doubt will happen as always with products I love!).

6. MAC "Naked Lunch" | £10.00
This is my second purchase of this shadow. I love this colour its a gorgeous shimmery champagne colour I wear it everyday all over my lid with a darker colour going through the crease. if you’re looking for an everyday shadow this is a beautiful colour and it’s MAC so applies like a dream.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation | Review

Hi Guys! I have read so many good reviews on this foundation so I thought I would give it a go.

So Rimmel say -
"Wake Up & Glow! Rimmel’s first liquid foundation that instantly re-awakens skin with a healthy, radiant glow. Light, moisturising texture applies smoothly and leaves skin feeling soft and comfortable all day. Gives an instant flawless, natural-looking finish, visible anti-fatigue effect with peptides and a Vitamin Moisturising complex"

I have read a lot of bloggers saying that it makes you look like a glitterball which worried me a bit as I hate shimmery foundations. When I tried this on my skin I was pleasantly surprised I didn't notice a shimmer on my skin at all and I looked at it in day light and under my bathroom light and I had no noticeable glitterball effect on my skin.

This is a very natural looking foundation.  I would say it has a medium coverage, it’s very light and creamy in texture and goes onto the skin very smoothly. Rimmel have done very well with the packaging – it’s in a glass bottle (I hate plastic bottles!) which makes it feel more expensive than it is - and it has a pump! Well done Rimmel! When applying this for a medium coverage I used two pumps of foundation and I applied it with my beauty blender. It left me with a dewy (not too dewy) healthy complexion.

I am really impressed with this foundation considering it retails at £8.99 but is often on offer in Boots (I picked this up whilst it was on 3 for 2).

The only downside to this foundation is that there isn't a huge range in colours. There are 6 shades all medium/fair so if you have a very light or very dark skin tone you may struggle to find a match!

Also for anyone who suffers with dry skin like me, this didn't cling to any of my dry patches and actually felt very moisturising.

Rimmel London Apocalips | Review | Swatches

If you follow me on twitter you'll know that I have recently been trying out the Apocalips in the colour 400 BIG BANG. These have been raved about in the "Blogging world" since they were released back in January. As soon as they were released I went out and got the colour BIG BANG which is a vibrant red.

I find it really hard to find the perfect "pin-up girl" red so when I saw this I had to have it. I have read many reviews saying that these are a high-street version of the YSL Rouge Pur Couture Vernis À Lèvres and when I hear of a high-street dupe I have to try it! I think that the Rimmel Apocalips are extremely good in the sense that they stay on for at least 5 hours without having to reapply, the colours really pigmented and the doe foot applicator makes the application very easy.

The only downside of this I think is that it does bleed, I have started using my MAC lip liner in Cherry when using the apocalips as I find there is nothing worse than when a lipstick/gloss bleeds. The other issue I had with it was the taste/smell it reminded me of powder paint that I used to use when I was at school (remember those powder paints that you had to mix with water and could never get the right consistency) but I can put up with those issues as the colour is so amazing, I am definitely going to try the other colours.

You can buy these in BOOTS and they are £5.99 each, they come in 8 different shades I think that my next purchase will be the colour Apocoliptic!

Have you tried Rimmel's Apocalips? What did you think of them?

Everyday Make-up / FOTD

Hi Guys! Today I thought I would do a post on my everyday makeup. This look I have pretty much been wearing every day for the last few weeks. I always do this, I get stuck doing the same makeup look for weeks as its easy to get into the routine of grabbing the same make-up everyday. The only thing that does change is lipstick I try to wear a different one everyday.

So for my skin I start with using this YONKA moisturiser - I got this in a Joliebox and I really love it, I have really dry skin but this is really moisturising this is £35.00 via the birchbox shop. I have been using my Laura Mercier silk creme foundation which I love I have it in colour beige ivory, I tend to use Estee Lauders double wear but I found that it really dried my skin out. Laura Mercier silk creme foundation has good coverage and feels nice on my skin I use my real techniques buffing brush to apply this. My favorite concealer is this collection 2000 lasting perfection  which I have in light 2. I then use my Rimmel Stay Matte powder which i have in 001 transparent, this is by far the best powder I have used it doesn't make you look to matte and it lasts all day.

For my cheeks I use this little glow cheek block buster which I will also do a review on because I have fallen in love with it and its from Primark!! My mum bought me this a while ago and to be honest I just chucked it at the back of my make-up box thinking it would be rubbish, after finding it and using it a couple of weeks ago I realised I was very wrong and I really like it! I also use my Benefit Coralista (Excuse the battered box, it is rather old).

I have been using this liquid liner from Natural collection for the past few weeks and I love it! It costs just £1.99, its easy to apply and it lasts all day! I will do a review on this sometime this week.
I have started using this again recently. I got this in my media makeup kit when I was at college. You can get this on the Crown brush website for just £22.99. you can see the colours I use and they are just the neutrals.
This is my current favorite lipstick and its the Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 107.

Boots Haul

Today I went to boots to get a few things I needed. Whilst there I spotted a couple of other things that I have been wanting to try for a while.
One of the main things I wanted to get was some new mascara, as my Lancome Hypnose ran out last week. I really wanted to try something different so I got Maybelline the rocket volum' express, I have read so many good reviews on this mascara so I am looking forward to seeing how good it is.
I also needed a new brow pencil so I just picked up the Rimmel professional eyebrow pencil in 002 HAZEL.
Whilst at the Rimmel counter I couldn't help but notice the Apocalips lip lacquers that I have seen so many people blogging about, I could have happily picked up all of the colours but I stopped myself and just picked up one colour - 400 BIG BANG.
Rimmel also have a eyeshadow primer which I have never noticed before and most eyeshadow primers are high end and expensive so I thought I'd give the Rimmel one a go. Finally I picked up a lip liner from Natural Collection in the colour ruby rose. I really like a few of the natural collection items that I have used recently and all of their products are so cheap, I am currently using their liquid liner which I love and it was only £1.99!

Just to let you all know, boots have their 3 for 2 on make-up at the moment.
I will do reviews on each product once I have used them a few times.
